The school rules are here to be respected and strictly followed. They reflect the school community’s expectations in terms of acceptable standards of behavior, dress and personal presentation in the widest sense. Students are expected to follow the school rules at all times when on the school grounds, representing the school, attending a school activity or when clearly associated with the school i.e. when wearing school uniform.

GENERAL RULES
  1. A student must show respect to the national flag, logo, stand still during the national anthem, respect the money of country, photos of our national leaders and any other symbols of the nation.
  2. Students are to be clean-shaven at all times while representing the school. Student’s hair must be kept clean and tidy at all times. The length of the hair should not be shorter than “number 2” razor cut. Girl’s hair must be well cut or hair tied up or braided at all times. No dye or highlights are allowed, a student must keep her/his natural hair colour.
  3. In addition, no make-up shall be worn at the school compound or outside when representing the school or wearing school uniform.
  4. Evening and morning preparations are vital for the academic success of any peers at Abeti Schools, so failing to obey or unreported excuse shall not be tolerated.
  5. All students must report at school once the school is opened and not later than 16 hrs (4pm) in the evening. All latecomers must come with their parents for more explanations otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the school premises
  6. A student is not allowed to receive any visitor at school, a part from a parent or guardian or any other person registered by the parents or guardian and recognized by the office. Visiting days for our students in boarding school are strictly regulated to avoid distraction of your child.
  7. The visits will be once per term the dates will be communicated by the school management directly to concerned parents/guardians. However, we encourage parents/ guardians to visit their children or send a family member during the visiting days.
  8. Students are forbidden to enter or visit the teacher’s or non-staff member’s houses or homes without special permission, nor it is permitted to enter the school kitchen.
  9. Any student with a health issue should present a doctor’s certificate from a state hospital or any other recognized hospital to a school doctor, patron, matron, and/or senior disciplinary teacher.
  10. Parents, please consider carefully the effect on learning and the consequences of asking for leave during school time. The process of applying for leave is for parents/guardians to write to the Headmaster well in advance, notifying dates and the reason for absence. Each application is considered fully by the student’s teachers, before being granted or otherwise by the Headmaster
  11. A student shall sleep in the assigned space at the right time. A student must make sure that his/her board (bed), classroom, toilets, school halls and all school areas are free from litter at all times. Students are also encouraged to take responsibility for litter in their immediate vicinity and place.
  12. The language of communication inside or outside the school with teachers, employees, or fellow peers is ENGLISH.
TEMPORARY DISMISSAL FROM SCHOOL
  1. It is forbidden to wear hats, any visible jewelry (jewelry of religious or cultural signification may be worn but must be covered at all times), high heels shoes or flip flops, piercings in particular, clear plastic studs, or otherwise used to maintain the piercing. Using nail polish even a transparent one is forbidden, skin bleaching in anyways.
  2. Student owes respect to teachers and/or any other school employee or any other adult at all times. The respect must extend to his/her fellow peers.
  3. School uniform must be worn tidily and correctly at all times, whether inside the school compound or outside, when going to church or mosque (apply to boarding school students), shirts are to be tucked in, socks are to be pulled up and shoes well polished. Where a situation arises concerning a student’s uniform, a written request must be addressed to the school manager by the parent or a guardian.
  4. No mobile phones are allowed in the school compound, a student shall not possess a sim card of any kind, radio, camera, CD, DVD, or any other device.
  5. No communication by telephone is allowed between a student and any school employee or non-staff member to their residence or office or mobile, apart from the headteacher or deputy headmaster’s office.
  6. Our school allows students to worship their religion, however, the student should follow our school procedures related to worship.
PERMANENT EXCLUSION FROM SCHOOL
  1. Any student who uses insulting or abusive language to teachers, employees, non-staff members, or fellow peers, this includes engaging or encouraging fights shall be excluded from school.
  2. A student shall be expelled definitively from school if is convicted of theft, drunkenness, smoking, sexual immorality, having sex, marry or get married, impregnating a female student, going out to discotheques (night clubs) or bars, or any other criminal offense.
  3. A student is not allowed to bring candles, knives, hammers, and/or any other instrument that could be harmful to other peers or to school. Cigarettes or tobacco, chemicals, alcohol or drugs in any form, matches, lighters, explosives, or any other offensive materials are strictly forbidden and should not enter the school compound
  4. Damage of any kind on the property or any school materials must be reported immediately to the school administration. In case of willful damage or negligence students (through their parents) will be expected to contribute fully to cover the cost of repair or buying new material for replacement.
  5. A student is not allowed to engage with criminals or to hide the actions of fellow students or anyone inside or outside the school.
  6. No student should be found in the dormitories during study hours or classes.
  7. It is prohibited for any female student to visit or sleep in the boy’s dormitories, and for male students to visit or sleep in the female’s dormitories
  8. All problems must be dealt with and resolved based on the rules and procedures of this school.
  9. It is prohibited to file a complaint outside the school without informing the school authorities.
  10. It is prohibited for a student to cheat on any examination be internal or outside of school.
  11. Students are not allowed to engage in political issues, demonstrations, or meetings contrary to our school procedures.
  12. Any form, verbal or physical, or any means of bullying or victimization is strictly forbidden inside and outside the school premises.
